Dear Families,
I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your child to St.Peter’s Church of England Primary School and Nursery.
Our school is an extremely successful primary school located in South Bristol. All of our children are encouraged to aim for excellence and to fulfil their individual potential – academically, socially and personally.
We are a growing semi-rural primary school in which children thrive because they enjoy school and feel happy, safe and valued. The needs of every child are always our prime consideration.
OFSTED came to visit us in December 2012 and rated our school and Nursery as OUTSTANDING in all areas. We were particularly delighted when they said: Behaviour in lessons and around the school is exemplary, and all pupils, staff, parents and carers spoken to said that this is typically the case. They were unanimous in saying that the school is a happy, friendly and harmonious community. (OFSTED 2012)
A copy of our OFSTED report is available in the 'Key Documents' or by clicking on the OFSTED logo at the top of this page.
At St.Peter’s we all strongly believe that children deserve to experience childhood and all the magic and wonder it brings - From breakfast until bedtime we offer our children ‘A World of Opportunities’ which we believe are among the best in the area.
We hope you enjoy looking at our website and all we have to offer.
Livvy Sinclair-Gieben (Headteacher)
The reception classes have been rehearsing their Christmas nativity production for a long time and finally dressed up and performed it to parents/carers on the 10th December.
This year (2014 - 2015) our open evening is on Wednesday 19th November from 5.00 - 6.30
We also have two open day tours taking place on Thursday 20th November at 9.30 and 1.30
“St. Peter’s Primary School is a very special place to learn, grow and develop. It is held in high affection and regard by many - pupils, teachers, parents, the church and the local community”
Parent of child at St.Peter’s CE VC Primary School.
Our school is set in fabulous and spacious grounds in South Bristol. We have three playgrounds and two areas that are specially set up for our Early Years Children. We have allotments, climbing and adventure equipment, an arboretum, a secret garden and large playing fields. With two buildings we also have plenty of space inside. We have two halls, two libraries, a music room and an ICT Suite. Children in the Foundation Stage and KS1 (Infants) are in one building and children in KS2 (Juniors) are in another building. Each building is fully accessible and adapted to meet the needs of the children in that age range.
We are confident that the years that your child spends at St.Peter’s CE VC Primary School will be happy, rewarding and memorable, providing a firm foundation for their future. With a great team of staff and a wonderful community, we know that this is a successful school that provides ‘A World of Opportunities’ for each of our children.
We have our own Nursery (Ducklings) and children attend our Nursery for 2 and 1/2 days a week. Part of the Nursery provision also includes free access to Forest School.
Teaching is never less than good and a high proportion is outstanding. Teachers use their very good subject knowledge to motivate and inspire pupils. Good use of different media, such as information and communication technology, adds greatly to pupils’ enjoyment of learning, which is palpable.
OFSTED Report December 2012
The headteacher and staff team lead by example. They consistently exemplify love, respect and awareness of others. As a result, pupils feel safe and happy and their behaviour is good. The welfare of each pupil and family is a priority for the school. The curriculum is planned carefully to challenge and support pupils’ learning.
